Sneyd Green in the snow

What a start to Friday the 13th!

Children and staff were welcomed with open arms to a very cold and snowy Sneyd Green Primary School this morning. However, we are made of strong stuff here and learning has continued as normal despite the arctic weather. Thank you so much to all parents who braved the weather and brought their children to school. It was lovely to see them all. The cancelled celebration assembly will take place next Friday.

PC Justine gives us a dog handling talk

PC Justine visited us today and gave us a talk about how to react around dogs to keep them and us safe. It was a really interesting talk and everyone learnt lots of things. We really enjoy it when PC Justine visits us in school.

Y5 Tubing - PTFA treat

This morning Y5 went to Stoke Ski Centre at Festival Park to go tubing. This was in place of watching the pantomime and was a treat provided by the PTFA.

The children set off from school wrapped up in thick coats, scarves, hats and gloves and arrived full of trepidation for an exciting morning. But a great time was had by all. They started off on the small slope but soon plucked up the courage to go down the big slope. Even the staff had a go and there is a wonderful video of them all going down together at the end.

Y6 venture off to Stanley Head

This morning we waved goodbye to our intrepid Y6 pupils and their staff as they set off for an exciting week at Stanley Head. In true Sneyd Green fashion, the radio this morning reported the possibility of snow later in the week - it always happens when our children go to the centre so I should not have been surprised. I am sure that they will have a great time and will return home tired and muddy.

Enjoy yourselves Y6. School will be quiet without you!

Panto comes to Sneyd Green

This afternoon children from nursery to year 4 enjoyed a fabulous performance of Cinderella. This was all courtesy of the PTFA who paid for this fabulous activity. There was lots of fun for all and we especially enjoyed Mrs Bennett and Miss Preston dancing the Cha cha cha and Gangnam style. Oh no they didn't - oh yes they did!

A big thank you to the PTFA for organising this for the children and to all of our families for supporting our fundraising events. Y5 and Y6 will enjoy a visit to Stoke Ski Centre to go tubing over the next couple of weeks, again all paid for by the PTFA.

Health Day, 3.1.17

Happy New Year to you all. I hope that 2017 is filled with lots of exciting things for you and your children.
